BE Opt-In Email
Though not as pretty as as a similar email sent by Panic Software, I like BE's email even more.

This is what they didn't do:

* They didn't assume that because they don't have information on me, that I must have wanted to opt-in and just missed the opportunity somehow.
* They didn't go ahead and send me an email I didn't ask for with an opt-out link on it.
* They didn't automatically subscribe me to a list then send me an email making me take an action to opt-out (if I take no action, I remain opted-out).

I'm not going to opt in, so this email didn't achieve what is appears to be it's main goal:

* It has increased my trust in them. This is important for a company which handles so much of my private data. To be honest, my trust in them was already pretty high after their response to the Digital Economy Act
*It's assured me that I should pay attention to any emails I get from them because they will be either about my bill or downtime.
*It has made that one frustrating support call I had months ago seem that much less important.
